چکیده

Abstract Modeling of broadband and narrowband signal mark detection is widely used for sonar radar systems. In this work, the problem considered in relation to hydroacoustics. The paper describes formation a stream correctly detected false marks calculation estimates their parameters, taking into account antenna characteristics as well processing parameters system being simulated. Also are realistic distribution by heading angles influence Doppler effect on estimation parameters. resulting model can be simulation systems, marks, development tracking algorithms. also predictive calculations that determine probability detecting sources

Diver Detection and Localization Using Passive Sonar

An open-circuit scuba diver’s acoustic signature (radiated sound) consists predominately of a sequence of regularly spaced wideband pulses each corresponding to the inhaling phase of the diver’s breathing cycle. A cyclic frequency analysis of the output signal from a single hydrophone leads to the automated detection of the diver and an estimate of the diver’s breathing rate. Measurement of the...

Passive Sonar Tracking Using Received Signal Amplitude Fluctuations

We present a passive sonar tracking algorithm that utilizes variations in the amplitude of the signal received from a source in motion. The approach is model-based in that it employs an acoustic propagation computer program, and Bayesian in that prior knowledge is used to compute a posterior probability distribution function from which the target location is estimated. The algorithm is designed...

Parallel Subspace Projection Beamforming for Autonomous, Passive Sonar Signal Processing

Adaptive techniques can be applied to improve performance of a beamformer in a cluttered environment. The sequential implementation of an adaptive beamformer, for many sensors and over a wide band of frequencies, presents a serious computational challenge. By coupling each transducer node with a microprocessor, in-situ parallel processing applied to an adaptive beamformer on a distributed syste...

A Passive Sonar System Based on an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are typically used to “actively” probe the ocean, using sensors that are mounted on a vehicle that moves through the water column. A more challenging task is to use an AUV to position a bottom-mounted stationary platform, such as a passive sonar that requires a large aperture. This paper describes the development of a passive sonar, which was mounted as a p...

Passive Sonar Performance Modeling

Accurate passive acoustic (ASW) performance modeling requires high-fidelity environmental inputs, accurate acoustic propagation and noise modeling as well as the integration of the statistics of the detection of quiet signals in a dynamic environment. In this paper we present the combination of Parabolic Equation modeling with state of the art statistical signal processing to be able to incorpo...
